MY THOUGHTS:
Easy to read graphic novel style. Lots of illustrations throughout to provide clues, really useful for building inference skills especially looking at character emotions. Read using visualiser which engaged children much better with details. Short chapter style meant good book to read when you only have 5-10 minutes, but left the children on a cliff-hanger. Children interested in plot as relevant to them – lunchtime! American style setting and few word choices (Mom etc.) but doesn’t detract from relatability for Y3. Y4 may find slightly boring, especially as moving up the year.
